Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]

These terms are an agreement between you and Runecode OÜ, registry code [REGISTRY CODE], [ADDRESS], Estonia (“Typefold”, “we”). They cover the hosted service at app.typefold.dev, its API and Studio (the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you use it for a company, you accept them for that company and confirm you may do so.

The service is for businesses and professionals, not consumers. You must be at least 18.

  • Keep your sign-in details and API keys secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account and your workspace’s API keys.
  • Give us a working email address. We send sign-in codes and service notices to it.
  • One person, one account. Workspace owners decide who joins their workspace and with which role.

Your templates, assets, data you send for rendering, and the documents we produce for you are your content. You keep all rights to it. You give us the rights we need to store, process and render it, only to run the service for you.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use it, including fonts, images and any personal data in it. When your content contains personal data, our Data Processing Terms apply.

Do not use the service to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
  • create documents meant to deceive, such as forged invoices, certificates or identity papers;
  • send spam or malware, or attack the service or other customers;
  • get around plan limits, for example by opening several Free workspaces;
  • probe, scan or load-test the service without our written permission;
  • resell the service as a document rendering service of your own without our agreement.

We may suspend a workspace that breaks these rules or puts the service at risk. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

The Free plan currently includes 100 documents a month and 100 MB of storage. Studio shows how much you have used. When you reach the monthly document limit, rendering stops until the next month. When you reach the storage limit, uploads stop until you delete files. Moving to a plan with more room lifts either limit. Test renders are free and carry a watermark.

We may change what the Free plan includes. We tell you before a change that takes something away.

  • Who sells them: paid plans are sold by our reseller, [Polar Software, Inc.] (“Polar”), as merchant of record. You buy from Polar under [Polar’s terms of purchase], and Polar charges you, adds VAT where it applies, and sends your invoices and receipts. These terms still govern your use of the service.
  • Price and renewal: the price is shown in Studio, and with any VAT at checkout. A plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it.
  • Limits: a paid plan’s limits apply as soon as it is paid for. When you reach a limit, rendering or uploads stop, as on the Free plan, until the next month, a larger plan or deleted files.
  • Overage: a workspace owner or administrator can turn on overage in Studio. Documents past the plan’s monthly limit are then rendered and charged per 1,000 documents at the price shown in Studio, with the plan’s next invoice. Rendering stops when the month’s overage reaches the spend cap you set. Overage is off until you turn it on, and on the Free plan rendering always stops at the limit.
  • Changing plans: you change plans in the billing portal linked from Studio. A larger plan applies at once, and Polar charges or credits the difference for the rest of the period. A smaller plan applies at once too; files above its storage limit are kept, but you can’t upload more until you are under it.
  • Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in the billing portal. The plan keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, and the workspace then returns to the Free plan. We don’t refund the rest of a period, unless the law requires it.
  • Failed payments: if a payment fails, Polar retries it for a while and the plan keeps working. If it still can’t be paid, the workspace returns to the Free plan.
  • Price changes: we tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect. It applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it is always available or free of errors. Paid plans also come with our Service Level Agreement: a monthly uptime commitment, with service credits if we miss it. We may change or remove features. If we remove a feature you rely on, we give reasonable notice where we can.

You can delete your account or shut down your workspace in Studio at any time. We may end your access with 30 days’ notice, or right away if you seriously break these terms. When a workspace is shut down, we delete its content as described in the Privacy Policy. Download anything you want to keep before you shut it down.

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for checking that the documents you produce are correct and meet the rules that apply to you.

To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data. Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the greater of what you paid us in those 12 months and EUR 100. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

We may update these terms. We tell you by email or in Studio at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms. If you don’t, you can stop using it and delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Harju County Court in Tallinn decides any dispute, unless the law requires otherwise.
